Written cover before approval

AC Repair Warranty Compared

A warranty is not the number of months spoken at reception. It is a written promise that identifies the repair, covered part, labour position, start date, exclusions and the process if the same fault returns.

For a qualifying Car AC Heroes repair using original parts, six months of cover can be included when it is stated in the written scope. Not every repair, customer-supplied part or unrelated future AC fault automatically receives that term. This page shows what to demand before choosing a Dubai AC repair quote.

WRITTEN
COVERAGE
01

One rule decides whether the promise is usable

The site terms are deliberately plain. A warranty applies only when it is written on the quotation, invoice or another confirmed record. That protects the customer and the workshop from remembering two different promises later.

A line such as “six months” is still incomplete if it does not identify which supplied part and authorised work it follows. Conversely, a detailed warranty can be valuable even when its period is shorter, because the owner knows what happens if a confirmed defect appears.

Do not approve a high-value compressor, evaporator or dashboard job until warranty language appears beside the same repair scope and part choice being purchased.

Seven details that turn reassurance into terms

Covered repair

The invoice should identify the authorised job. A compressor warranty is not a lifetime guarantee for the condenser, fan, sensor, evaporator, blower or every climate-control function.

Covered component

Record brand, condition and part reference where practical. OEM boxed, original-equipment supplier, aftermarket, remanufactured and used parts can carry different cover.

Time period

State when cover begins and whether it is measured from invoice, installation or collection. Avoid relying on an unwritten “we will look after you.”

Labour position

Ask whether removal and refitting labour is included when a supplied part is accepted as defective. Labour can exceed the component price on dash-out work.

Consumables

Clarify refrigerant, oil, seals and testing. These may be consumed during authorised work and can have a different remedy from a defective durable part.

Exclusions

External impact, a new leak, contamination, overheating, unauthorised alteration or a customer-supplied defective part may fall outside a particular warranty depending on evidence.

Claim route

Record who to contact, where the vehicle must return and why the workshop needs a chance to inspect before another garage dismantles the system. If the booking sits between a platform and the physical workshop, our car service app vs garage comparison explains why the claim owner should be clear before approval.

Match the comeback to the original promise

Select the situation closest to yours. This is an initial routing guide, not an automatic acceptance or rejection. The workshop must inspect evidence and the written terms.

Potential warranty review

Return before further dismantling

If the same covered part or authorised workmanship appears to have failed within the written period, preserve the condition and request inspection.

  • Bring the invoice and original scope
  • Describe when the same symptom returned
  • Allow evidence-led inspection

How the six-month warranty applies

For qualifying repairs completed with original parts, six months of warranty cover applies within the approved repair scope when that cover is stated in writing before work starts. The important words are qualifying repair, original parts and approved repair scope.

It should not be silently expanded into six months on every diagnosis, regas, customer-supplied item, used part, unrelated leak or failure caused by a different component. The exact quote must say whether this repair receives that cover and what it includes.

Customer-facing commitment
We will put the applicable warranty position in writing before approved major work, instead of using the word warranty as an undefined sales label.
Four layers

Parts, labour, refrigerant and diagnosis are not one thing

01

Part defect

A supplied component that proves defective can follow the stated supplier and workmanship route. Identity and installation evidence matter.

02

Repeat labour

Ask whether access labour is covered. On an evaporator or buried actuator, this question can be more valuable than the headline period.

03

Refrigerant

Gas is not meant to vanish, but a new external leak is not automatically the same event as a warranted compressor or seal repair.

04

Diagnosis

A warranty review determines whether the comeback matches the covered cause. It is not a promise that every future investigation is free.

For the evidence that should exist before parts approval, review our full AC system diagnostic. For maintenance work that is not a major repair warranty, see the comprehensive AC service.

Exclusions need evidence too

A workshop should not hide behind a vague exclusion

External damage

A stone-damaged condenser, collision, damaged wiring or later physical impact may be unrelated to the original repair. The workshop should show the new damage rather than merely assert it.

System contamination

Incorrect refrigerant, incompatible oil, debris left outside the approved scope or a later cross-fill can change the claim. Contamination should be identified and documented.

Unauthorised alteration

If another workshop opens, replaces or modifies the covered area before inspection, the original condition can be lost. Emergency work should still be documented with photos and invoices.

Customer-supplied parts

The workshop may warrant its installation workmanship while the customer or seller remains responsible for a defective supplied part. This split must be stated before fitting.

An exclusion is not permission to refuse every concern. The refund and re-performance policy explains the business process alongside applicable UAE consumer rights.

Claim sequence

How a fair warranty review should move

Notify

Send the invoice, symptom and when the issue returned. Avoid authorising unrelated dismantling first.

Inspect

Reproduce the concern and compare it with the original diagnosis, part and final tests.

Separate

Distinguish covered workmanship or part failure from a new leak, impact or unrelated component.

Decide

Explain acceptance, further testing or exclusion using evidence and the written terms.

Remedy

Re-perform, replace, refund or propose a separate repair as the facts and applicable rights require.

The warning sign is not a short warranty, it is no answer

Vague offer

  • “Warranty available” with no document
  • No part brand or condition
  • No labour statement
  • No start date or claim contact
  • Exclusions introduced only after failure

A low price can still be valid, but the risk remains unpriced.

Comparable written offer

  • Exact repair and supplied part
  • Applicable period before approval
  • Parts and labour position
  • Named exclusions tied to evidence
  • Clear return and inspection route

Now two quotes can be compared on total accountability, not the month count alone.

Before you approve

Ask these questions while the quote is still negotiable

Is the warranty written beside this exact repair?A brochure promise is weaker than the invoice for your vehicle.
Which part brand and condition receive it?Original, aftermarket, remanufactured and used choices can differ.
Does it include repeat access labour? This matters especially for dashboard and rear-HVAC work.
What happens to refrigerant and oil?Ask how consumed materials are handled during an accepted rework.
What evidence can exclude the claim?Exclusions should be explained, not applied as a blanket phrase.
Where must the vehicle return?A warranty is only practical if the owner can use its inspection route. If the return route crosses emirates, compare the real travel burden in our Dubai vs Sharjah AC repair price guide.
What if the supplier delays the part?Ask about inspection, approval and realistic completion time.
What rights remain under UAE law?Written warranty terms do not replace applicable UAE consumer rights.
Warranty by repair type

The expensive question changes with the component

Compressor work

Ask whether cover follows the supplied compressor only or also the installation labour, oil procedure and protective items named in the repair. If the original failure produced contamination, the quotation should identify the flushing, drier, condenser or expansion-device decision that protects the replacement. A compressor warranty can be challenged by incorrect refrigerant, insufficient oil control or debris left outside the agreed scope, so those matters should be settled before approval rather than after a comeback.

Evaporator replacement

The access labour can be larger than the cooling-coil price. Ask whether an accepted evaporator defect includes repeat dashboard removal, refrigerant, seals and reassembly checks. Also separate a new external leak from failure of the replaced evaporator. If a rattle, warning light or trim concern appears after dash-out work, report it promptly and document the condition; workmanship concerns can follow a different evidence path from refrigerant leakage.

Rear AC repair

Large SUVs can have rear lines, an auxiliary evaporator, valves, blowers, sensors and controls. A warranty on one rear line repair does not automatically cover every rear-zone component. The useful document states the repaired branch and whether front and rear performance were tested at collection. When a rear line is bypassed rather than repaired, the changed function and warranty boundary should be explicit.

Regas and leak repair

A refrigerant charge is not a promise that the system will never develop another leak. If the approved job repaired a named leak, ask how that location was verified and what happens if it leaks again. A new stone impact at the condenser or a separate ageing seal can be unrelated. The invoice should distinguish leak-repair workmanship from a gas-only service and record whether R134a or R1234yf was used by measured quantity.

Blower and electrical work

Electrical symptoms can return for a different reason. A supplied blower motor may be covered while a later controller, wiring, fuse-box or climate-module fault remains separate. Ask which voltage, command or current evidence identified the replaced part and which function was verified. This makes a repeat complaint easier to classify than a general promise that “the AC electrical work” is covered.

Customer-supplied parts

When the customer provides a component, the repair order should split responsibility clearly. The workshop can state what installation workmanship it accepts, while the component seller handles a manufacturing defect or incorrect fitment. If the supplied item causes extra labour or contamination, that risk should be agreed in advance. A cheap online part becomes expensive when neither seller nor installer has a written responsibility route.

These examples show why the best warranty is attached to the evidence and installed scope. They do not predetermine a claim. A fair review still inspects the vehicle, compares the present finding with the original repair and applies mandatory consumer rights.

Make the promise inspectable

Get the warranty before the repair, not after the failure

Send the vehicle details, fault evidence and preferred part option. We will quote the exact scope and state the applicable warranty position in writing where the repair qualifies.

Keep the handover evidence. Photograph the odometer, final vent result where it is supplied, removed parts if returned, and the invoice at collection. If the same concern reappears, report the date, driving conditions and any warning or noise before adding refrigerant or authorising another repair. This record does not guarantee acceptance, but it preserves the condition that a fair review needs. It also stops a disagreement about whether the symptom is genuinely the same.

Where a repair has a supplier-backed part warranty, the workshop may need time to test the component and obtain supplier approval. Ask whether the vehicle can remain safely in use, whether a temporary repair would disturb evidence, and which party authorises replacement. A clear process is better than an unrealistic instant promise. If the provider refuses, fails or delays proper performance, the applicable written policy and mandatory UAE consumer remedies still govern the next step.

Our warranty review starts from the original job record. We compare the invoice scope, supplied part, original symptom, final test result and the condition when the complaint returned. The first question is whether the same covered repair failed, a different component failed, or later work changed the evidence. That is why coverage has to be written beside the actual repair instead of advertised as a blanket promise.
