For a family car, comfort is not only about the driver. A weak rear AC system can leave children or older passengers uncomfortable even while the front vents feel reasonably cool. Large SUVs also have more cabin volume, more glass and more duct length, so small weaknesses become obvious faster.

Large cabins need more than a front-vent temperature check

A rear AC complaint can come from several directions. The front system may be cooling correctly while the rear blower is weak. The rear evaporator may not be receiving the expected refrigerant flow.
